You’ve already taken the first step toward this fulfilling career by coming to the official web site of the Greater Boston Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) Apprenticeship Program, a joint training program provided by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 103, and the National Electrical Contractors Association of Boston. The Greater Boston JATC can give you the opportunity to get the right experience for a career in the exciting electrical construction and telecommunications industry, and you get paid while you get the training.

As a union apprentice electrician or technician, you would:

  • Earn a good living while learning an exciting trade.
  • Challenge both your mind and your body while working on a variety of exciting projects every day.

If you’re technical-minded, like to work with your hands while thinking on your feet, and enjoy variety of work and locations, then this is the career for you — a career as a NECA/IBEW Local 103 electrician or technician.

What is it like to be a NECA/IBEW electrician or technician? Picture yourself driving through Boston and pointing out the important projects you’ve helped build — projects like the Logan International Airport Expansion or “The Big Dig” Central Artery, or the Tunnel Project of the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority. Imagine being part of the Electric Team that Greater Boston has relied on for more than a hundred years, and that remains on the cutting edge of new technology.

If you want a career that will give you all of this — and more — then you may have what it takes to train as a member of the most in-demand team of electricians and technicians in the business — skilled NECA/IBEW electricians and technicians.
